About the Clough Perdaman project
Clough, in a 50/50 joint venture with Saipem, are developing a urea plant on the Burrup Peninsula in Karratha for Perdaman Industries.
The scope of work includes engineering, supply of equipment and materials, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning for the execution of the urea plant, with a capacity of 2.14 million tonnes of urea per annum.
Also included in the scope is EPC for all site civils, urea handling and storage, and loading and unloading facilities, plus a water treatment plant, an over 100MW power plant and site buildings. A closed conveyer will transport the urea 7 kilometres directly to the Pilbara Ports Authority for shipping to local and offshore markets, with 50 to 100 shiploads expected per year. The overall value of the contract is around USD$2.4B and Clough’s share is approximately USD$1.2B.
Challenges & solutions
CDI Experts provided planning and project control support with regard to the tender programme, integration of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction programmes and resourcing loading of activities. Follow on work has included involvement in risk management workshops and overall planning and project control strategy.
